Our Mission

…to become disciples of Jesus Christ and make a difference in the world.

What We Believe

The Bible is the divinely inspired, inerrant, and revealed Word of God.

God is the Holy Trinity: God, the Father, God, the Son, and God, the Holy Spirit.

Jesus is the Christ, the eternal Son of the Living God, the Savior of men, born of a virgin, God in the flesh, equal with the Father in every divine perfection, and seeks to be the Lord of every Christian. The Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross, was buried, rose again on the third day, ascended to the right hand of God the Father, where He now sits in Glory as our Mediator. The return of the Lord Jesus Christ will be visible and personal.

The Holy Spirit is a person, equal with the Father and the Son in every divine perception, convicts the world of sin and the believers of righteousness, regenerates, enlightens, endues for service, comforts and guides believers. The Holy Spirit is God’s promised Spirit of power who became “God in us” after Jesus’ ascension.

Salvation is by grace alone, and is a free gift to all, through repentance, faith, and surrender to the Lord Jesus Christ. All who have been born again are eternally saved. Salvation precedes scriptural baptism and church membership. Christ personally instituted the church, which He commissioned to make disciples of all nations, to baptize believers, and to teach them to do all things that He commanded. This church believes and recognizes the following scriptural ordinances: believers baptism, the Lord’s supper, and the gifts of the Holy Spirit.¬†All have sinned and therefore, are in need of salvation. There are only two classes in God’s sight: the saved and the lost. The saved shall live eternally in concious blessedness with God in Heaven and the unsaved in concious punishment, separated from God in Hell, forever.

We hold these distinctive biblical principles:

  • The absolute Lordship of Christ
  • The supreme authority of the Holy Scriptures
  • The necessity of regeneration for church membership
  • The autonomy of the local church, through the fivefold ministry as listed in Ephesians 4:11
  • The operation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit

Our Pastors

Mickey and Becky Skinner started Lakeside Christian Fellowship in 1988 and remain our senior pastors today. It is the personality of our pastors that has created the casual atmosphere that you will experience at one of our services, and both of our pastors present the Word of God without alteration in a way that is relevant and practical. You will no doubt leave one of our church services encouraged and closer to knowing the heart of our Lord Jesus. He loves you, and His Grace is sufficient!

More personally, Mickey and Becky are native to the Abbeville, AL area and are well known in the community. They have two daughters, Steph and Beth, a super awesome son-in-law, Tim (who manages content on this website), and three grandchildren, Natalie, Jacob and Tyler. Mickey is an avid hunter and enjoys golf, and Becky is the biggest Alabama football fan alive.
